Y.E.S. Wayfinders

2024-2025 High School Homeschool Program

Join Y.E.S. for a year of adventure + discipleship!

At Y.E.S. we have a passion for facilitating outdoor experiences that discover the wonder of creation, catalyze deeper relationships and develop character for the sake of others. The Wayfinders program seeks to come alongside parents in helping their children explore the enriching delight of knowing God, the Creator, as He is revealed in the Bible. Participants will hone well-rounded outdoor skills (including rock climbing, canoeing, hiking, stewardship, and more). Along the way, they will participate in guided discussions about knowing God better, our true identity as His beloved children, and who He has created us to be!

Scheduled Mondays, 9:00am-5:00pm(see below for dates)

9th-12th grade girls & boys

Drop-off/Pickup: Restoration Southside Church

Curriculum:

The Y.E.S. Wayfinders group (maximum 12 students) meets every other Monday (with a break in December/January) over the 2024-2025 school year. Your child will receive age-appropriate skills instruction in canoeing (flatwater up to Class II whitewater), rock climbing (bouldering, top-roping, rappelling, and more as ability allows), hiking, and land stewardship skills. Our adventures will provide challenging opportunities to further develop outdoor decision-making, risk management, teamwork, and leadership skills in a group of peers that are empowered to solve problems together.

Our prayer is that as we share adventures, students will be inspired to know the God of the Bible better, understand that true identity is found in Him, and be better enabled to pursue Him for life. We will facilitate group discussions each day, which will reference reading assignments given before each program. During the first semester, we will focus our study on the attributes of God, with the second semester’s study being determined based on group formation.

Please refer to the Parent Guide linked below for more information on our overarching Y.E.S. learning outcomes.

Activities take place at a huge variety of locations around Chattanooga, with transportation provided via 15-passenger van from the rendezvous location. All sport-specific gear and reading materials will be provided.
